Sergey Brin claims he’s no social media expert, but Mark Zuckerberg claims he’s no Google Glass expert either. The two though could have a well made match though.
There comes a time in corporate competitions when even a combatant entity sometimes just has to give their corporate competitor a hand signifying, congratulations. Often times it seems a battle between Apple and Google, but Google actually competes on so many platforms, that this time its Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg applauding Sergey Brin and the Google team for their development of Google Glass.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly said, according to Forbes that, “I can’t wait to get my own”. Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin were both attending an academic affair in northern California, the Breakthrough Prize For Life Sciences, at which time Sergey let Mark take Google Glass for a spin. Zuckerberg asked Brin a few questions. He wanted to know if it was possible to get indoor directions and how was one suppose to maintain eye contact with someone while using Google Glass. Both questions were given a “no way” reply by Brin.
For some reason, mainly due to Mark’s powerful arm to do so, Mark may have potentially already gotten his hands on at least a trial pair of Google Glass available to developers for quite some time now, but at least Mark played along with the “Oh! this is Google Glass?” notion.
Both Facebook and Google stand to gain quite a bit from a successful Google Glass venture. If Google could perhaps spark Facebook interests in the development of apps tailored to Glass, it can mean an immediate rush in sales for even a nice percentage of consumers interested in the product merely for its social networking use, of which there is nothing used more on the Internet, and Facebook of course leads that.
